Your next laptop will have Kinect skills built in

We love Xbox Kinect’s clever motion sensing skills, and now they’re about to break out of the living room. Asus is working on a slick new line of laptops, and they’re going to pack 3D sensor tech right inside the lid!
Digitimes reports that Asus is planning on putting its own 3D motion sensing tech into its new PCs and notebooks, so your webcam would do more than just video chat. You could play motion control games on your PC, or even take a fitness game with you on the road with your laptop.

Asus is actually no stranger to this sort of tech: it has its own Kinect rival, WAVI Xtion, which works in much the same way. You perch it on top of your screen and it’ll pick up your movements to navigate menus and play games, no keyboard or mouse needed. Based on this report, it would appear it’s managed to trim it down so the tech will fit inside a laptop lid.
