iSmartAlarm is a home security alarm, but not the kind that uses a shrill sound to send burglars scrambling. The alarm system, currently a project on Indiegogo, is a $79 WiFi camera that sends alerts to a corresponding iPhone app. Essentially, when the camera detects someone in the home, it will send a notice to your phone in the form of a text, email or phone call. The camera itself has a series of LED lights around the lens, so it will still work even if youve turned off all the lights. Once you do get an alert you can dig into the app itself, where you can see a screenshot of the potential culprit, and choose to either ignore the alert or dial 911. For now, the app is for iOS only, though a company rep told us an Android version is in the works. Until then, check out our hands-on photos below and a quickie demo video after the break.

If your heart bleeds Android, but your eyes occasionally wander in the direction of Apples Passbook, good news. Samsung has announced "Wallet," a ticketing and coupon app of its own. Unveiled at the firms Developer Day at Mobile World Congress, Wallet comes ready with an open API to encourage adoption, with some big names already onboard including Hotels.com, Booking.com, Expedia, MLB and Lufthansa. Though this isnt the only Android solution weve heard about, in keeping with the norm, the app will be connected, and location aware. As such, the app will let you know when Wallet-friendly stores and so on are nearby, as well as continually send updates to items already stored in the app, should those booking details change. The app API is still in beta at this time, but word is that Samsung is accepting early sign-ups on its approval.

For the first time in India the brand will launch range of mobile phones under seven segmented categories each having unique characteristics.

Under this first phase iBall will be presenting seven distinct segments within the range of iBall mobile phones. There are over 700 million mobile phone subscribers in India presently. Monthly demand is over 20 million handsets per month. Annually the demand is set to cross 250 million handsets in India. Within 7 seconds of pressing SOS button, the handset sends a siren to alert the surrounding people know that the person is in trouble and should be immediately attended to. It also sends SMS to pre-defined 5 numbers and starts dialing those numbers automatically one after another till one call is attended.

iBall also launched the slimmest qwerty phone in India under its category Sleec and model Thin.

This is just 8 mm in thickness and the nearest competitor is at-least 25% thicker in this and on an average most qwerty phones are 65% or more thicker than this. The Thin phone comes with dual battery, dual camera and dual sim. A very elegant optional cover which houses the second battery to use is bundled free with the Thin phone. With the dual battery a person gets to talk almost 10 hours.

All the phones in the seven categories have some unique features. iBall is also launching the first waterproof mobile phones in India. At the press conference, Mr.Parasrampuria immersed the phone inside a bowl full of water for over 10 minutes. Two hours later, the phone was working just fine. The biggest USP of this waterproof mobile phone is it floats on water. So even if one drops the phone in sea or a lake, it can easily be retrieved.
